TruCare

Editorial Policy

How TruCare researches, writes, reviews, and updates its content, and how we keep our own products from tilting the results.

Last updated:

Why This Policy Exists

TruCare publishes guides, code lookups, and company comparisons for medical practices, home health agencies, billing teams, and RCM companies. This policy explains how we research, write, review, and update that content.

It also explains how we handle an obvious conflict: TruCare sells revenue cycle software and services, and some of our content compares TruCare with other companies.

Our Editorial Standards

Accuracy first

Codes, deadlines, payer rules, and figures are checked against primary sources before we publish.

Plain language

We write for the people doing the work and define acronyms the first time they appear.

Independence

Sales and marketing goals don’t change a ranking, a verdict, or a conclusion.

Transparency

We say when TruCare is mentioned, compared, or promoted, and we label it clearly.

Who Creates Our Content

Our founder, Hamza Rehman, MSN, RN, writes and reviews TruCare’s content himself. He trained as a nurse and worked inside growing practices before founding TruCare, so our guides come from first-hand experience with credentialing, intake, and billing, not secondhand summaries.

Having the founder write and review the work keeps quality high and the advice authentic. Every article names its author and shows the date it was published and last updated.

Sources We Rely On

We build content from primary sources and name them on the page. When we repeat a claim a company makes about itself, we say so.

  • CMS rules, manuals, and Medicare Administrative Contractor guidance
  • AMA CPT and the official ICD-10-CM code sets and guidelines
  • State Medicaid agencies, such as Texas HHSC and TMHP
  • Published payer policies and provider manuals
  • Company websites and public documentation, for company comparisons

How We Evaluate and List Companies

Our “best companies” guides score every company against the same 6 criteria. TruCare appears in some of these guides and is scored on the same rubric as everyone else.

  • Specialty depth30%

Knowledge of the codes, payer rules, and workflows of the specialty or setting being compared.

  • Local and payer readiness20%

Experience with the state Medicaid programs and payer rules that apply where the reader works.

  • Transparency15%

Published pricing or a clear quote process, contract terms, and access to your own data.

  • Technology and EHR fit15%

Works with the EHRs readers use and provides reporting without a request.

  • Verified client feedback10%

Ratings and written reviews on public platforms we can link to.

  • Onboarding and support10%

A named contact, a written onboarding plan, and a plan for open A/R.

  • We don’t accept payment for placement, rankings, or reviews.
  • Pricing and contract terms we can’t find publicly are marked “not published” rather than estimated.
  • Listed companies can request a correction by emailing us with a source.

Conflicts of Interest and Disclosure

TruCare is a revenue operating system made up of TruCred, TruIntake, TruRev, and TruIntel. When our products appear in content, we tell you.

“Our company” tags

TruCare carries an “Our company” label wherever it appears in a list or comparison.

Labeled promotion

Any section that promotes TruCare is labeled as promotional, separate from the editorial content.

Disclosure in every guide

Every comparison guide includes a conflict-of-interest disclosure stating that TruCare publishes it and appears in it.

Same rules for us

TruCare’s own claims get the same “reported by the company” treatment as anyone else’s.

Use of AI Tools

We may use AI tools to help research, outline, or draft content. A human editor checks every code, deadline, figure, and company fact against primary sources before anything is published, and the named author is accountable for the final article.

Reviews and Ratings

We only publish review quotes and ratings that we can link to on the original platform, such as Google, Trustpilot, or Reddit, along with the date we checked them. We never write, edit, or paraphrase reviews into quotes, and we don’t publish reviews we can’t verify.

Updates and Corrections

Billing rules change often. We review published content when the rules behind it change, such as the annual CPT and ICD-10-CM updates or a new CMS final rule, and at least once a year.

When we fix an error, we update the article, change its “Updated” date, and note significant corrections at the end of the article.

Not Professional Advice

Our content is general information about billing, coding, credentialing, and practice operations. It isn’t legal, financial, tax, or clinical advice. Payer rules vary by plan and state, so confirm requirements with the payer or a qualified advisor before acting on them.
